Anzac Day - A great day of tennis at the Digger's Cup

Leederville Tennis Club, Tue May 16, 2017 4:27PM

The Digger's Cup was on again.  It is held every year on Anzac Day with the troops fighting it out for the right to be declared the winners.  This event has been a success story for the club ever since its first year in 1997.  For 21 years teams have come from all over the State of Western Australia to compete in this unique event.

Teams of two men and two women play a combination of men's and ladies doubles and mixed doubles.   Each team is graded into a ranked division and teams are given a name in theme with the day from the Tobruk Rats to Tommy Guns.

Lunch, Morning and Afternoon tea is included in the entry fee and celebrations continue with the prize giving after a day of great tennis.

It was great to see so many enjoy the hospitality of the Leederville Tennis Club and a fun day of tennis. It's on again next year so get your team organised for 25 April 2018.
